Frequently Asked Questions
How is SCR different from a credit repair company?
SCR is a credit education company. We believe that most people are capable of managing their own Credit Image once they understand the rules of the "credit game." Our purpose is to maximize your negotiating power in all credit-related transactions.
Who are SCR's clients?
- Individuals who are just beginning to establish and build a positive Credit Image.
- Individuals who are repairing, enhancing and/or maintaining their Credit Image.
- Individuals who wish to create a Credit Legacy. This may include one or more of the following: planning for retirement, building business credit, helping children/grandchildren establish a positive Credit Image.
- Other professionals interested in expanding services offered to their clients without taking on additional work themselves.
Your credit score is a number that indicates your perceived credit worthiness. Currently, many creditors use something called a FICO score to determine what interest rate to offer you, or whether to lend to you at all. FICO stands for Fair Isaac Corporation. FICO scores range from a low of 300 to a high of 850. Most people fall in the 600's and 700's. Credit scores are a major part of your Credit Image.
What are some typical credit problems?
Some of the typical situations that create unnecessary blemishes on a credit image are:
- Double reporting of debt
- Medical bills that have gone to collection
- Debts on your credit record that don't belong to you
- A collection agency continues to report an outstanding debt, even though you have long ago paid the full amount to the original creditor
- Derogatory items over seven years old (ten for bankruptcy) that have not been removed from your credit report
Yes, you can. While we acknowledge that the process can be tedious, it is not rocket science. Our products and services are designed to educate and support you every step of the way.
How long will it take to improve my credit image?
Each individual's situation is unique, so there is no predictable estimate. Most people start to see progress in the first 30 to 45 days. On average, it will be 3-4 months before a significant difference is achieved. In most cases, 5-6 months is the longest it will take to resolve all outstanding discrepancies.
What kind of support does SCR offer?
From the initial no-cost consultation, to the Credit Image Report™ (CIR), our educational CD, and additional coaching services if desired, our products and services provide all the support you need to manage your own Credit Image.
How much will this cost?
